However the band, led by affable singer songwriter Sam Beam, disappointed many fans hoping for older,
folk influenced fan favourites by extensively jamming through cuts from funkier new album 'Kiss Each Other Clean'.
That said, plenty were left crying out for an encore at the end of Beam's show, and he eventually returned to giggle his
way through a touching rendition of 'He Lays In The Reins', breaking down into laughter after being distracted by waving and
clapping in the crowd.
Beam seemed pleased to be back at Green Man Festival. At the start of his
set, he said: "I played here three years ago and it sticks in my head as one of my favourite ever shows, so it's great
to be back".
The ceremonial closing of the festival takes place later tonight, with the annual burning of
the Green Man effigy.
