In what was possibly the clash of the weekend, the Foxes had to compete with a rare festival set from electronica God
Squarepusher and Green Man hero James Yorkston,
but were still able to pack out Glanusk Park's outdoor amphitheatre.
Amid a few bubbles blown from the crowd, frontman
Robin Pecknold used their show to have a sly dig at mainstream festivals, saying: "This is Green Man,
right? So we can play quiet songs without you all rushing off to see 30 Seconds To Mars", before launching into a sublime
version of 'Your Protector'.
Other highlights included a spine-tingling 'Mykonos' and recent single 'Battery Kinzie'.
Meanwhile, in the Far Out Tent, bass wielding maverick Squarepusher
treated a feverish crowd to some high octane electronic madness as part of the Far Out Tent's Warp Records curated After Dark
bill.
Another notoriously beardy folk collective, Iron and Wine, close the Crickhowell event
tomorrow.
