Introduced to the stage by Radio 1 DJ Jen Long, the Virginia band treated the sheltering hoards in the Far Out Tent to
dreamy renditions of tracks from their debut album 'Gemini'.
Before launching into 'Confirmation', frontman Jack
Tatum revealed: “This is our first time in Wales, it's gorgeous!” That despite a steady deluge outside
threatening to dampen the previously dry festival.
Later, the group played fan favourite 'Live In Dreams' and other
eighties influenced alt-pop numbers, and gained a few new fans from passers-by trying to escape the downpour.
Tatum
also suggested festival-goers watch Destroyer, who headline
the Far Out Tent tonight, hailing the Canadian outfit as “one of my favourite bands”.
Later
in the evening, Fleet Foxes will top the main stage,
while a Warp Records curated night featuring Squarepusher,
Chris Clark and Darkstar
looks set to keep fans in the Far Out Tent dancing well into the wee small hours.
