Motorhead close Bloodstock Open Air 2011
Band finish early and don't play an encore

Kicking off with ‘Iron Fist’, not much seems to have changed since not quite knocking Sonisphere’s socks
off last month except the crowd: louder, tougher and infinitely more boisterous.
Bloodstock-goers
have a lot more experience at going bloody mental, despite Motorhead’s
lack of growling animalistic vocals.
Lemmy even dares crack a joke: “And now it’s time to be an
ace for you,” he mumbles before striding into the obvious ‘Ace of Spades’.
It’s rather
disappointing when the hard rockers, while doing so well, finish ten minutes early - no encore, no ‘Overkill’.
Yet what can you expect? Lemmy may have the mind of a 30 year old, but the premature body of an eighty year old
can’t hold up too well under that strobe lighting.
