The Horrors break colour at Field Day
East-London shock rockers headline under canvas
Chris Swindells - 06 August 2011
Playing 'I Can See Through You' early on the east-London band warranted the press attention for their third album
'Skying' with an assured 'Laneway Stage' performance.
Dressed in the standard uniform black and leather jackets they played with dark, Joy Division inspired tunes like 'Endless Blue'.
London's Victoria Park had been barraged in rain just hours earlier but the sky was clear for The Horrors to tease sweat, tears and compassion from the crowd with 'Moving Further Away'.
'Still Life' caps a homecoming performance from the worthy kings of the East, including an appearance from lone crowd invader.
