White Bicycles is based on legendary producer Boyd's book about music-making in the
60's of the same name, and he'll "provide the stories", while ex-Soft Boys frontman and cult solo singer-songwriter
Hitchcock "sings the songs."
Connan
Mockasin will also play a live set, with DJing stints coming from the likes of Mixmaster Morris
and Ben Ayers.
The Lounge has been produced in collaboration with Glenn Max,
who has previously worked on the Meltdown and Ether festivals.
Max's
band Last Man Standing will also play the stage twice during the weekend, opening proceedings on
Thursday (4 August) with Morris DJing.
Both acts perform again on Friday
(5 August), where they'll be joined by The Kool Aid Electric Company, Connan Mockasin, A.J. Holmes,
Sam Sallon and
Iiona Superstar.
Saturday (6 August) will be hosted by Howard
Monk, and include DJ sets from Furry Sounds and Cosmic Slop DJs, and live performances
from Rayographs, Zun Zun Egui, Soft Hearted Scientists, plus a second appearance from The Kool
Aid Electric Company.
Ben Ayers will perform a DJ set under the name Light of
Aquarius on Sunday (7 August), when Richard Olson, Cosmic Slop and
Hitchcock will also take to the decks. Wolf People, The See See, The Lucid Dream, The Wicked Whispers,
and The
Junipers are all set to play before White Bicycles round things off.
As previously
announced, Kanye West, The Chemical Brothers and Rodrigo
y Gabriela will headline the festival this year.
The Big Chill 2011 will take place on 4-7 August at Eastnor Castle Deer
Park in Ledbury, Herefordshire.
Weekend tickets are priced at £165
and are on sale now.
