In a twist to the advertised line-up, Scissor Sisters performed second to last on Sunday, before
2ManyDJs closed the main stage as instruments and sound equipment was carried off.
The pre-watershed set
didn't make the band any less filthy or gorgeous though.
"It was kind of a hard day to figure out what to
wear," said singer Ana Matronic to the crowd. "I was in my hotel room and I saw a spark of lightning
and I thought, I better wear rubber."
In matching dayglo PVC, Ana and Jake performed a few tracks from their
third album ‘Night Work’, as well as favourites 'Laura', 'Take Your Mama Out' and 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin’’.
Beth Ditto, having performed
in her underpants earlier in the day, joined them for 'Tits On The Radio' but kept hers under wraps this time around.
The band also dedicated 'Comfortably Numb' to the son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, Charlie,
who was recently imprisoned for violent disorder.
As giant silver sausage balloons released at the start of the
set made their way back and forth through the crowd, Ana also made a tasty pun: "We hope we've been the whipped cream
and the cherry on top of your Sundae tonight."
