The Raghu Dixit Project warm up a rain-sodden Latitude

Suffolk festival gets a taste of Bangalore

While the rain poured down stubbornly outside, inside the Sunrise arena Indian crossover artist Raghu Dixit was leading a rapturous Latitude crowd through a soulful set of country-tinged Indian folk.

Barefooted and backed by a band all wearing colourful lungis, Raghu played a sensitive version of 'I'm in Mumbai Waiting for a Miracle', telling the crowd of the years of patient playing in dingy Mumbai bars waiting to be discovered that inspired the song.

Latitude veteran Susie King said Raghu's set was the best thing she'd seen all weekend. "It was beautiful. He had a lovely warm nature that the crowd loved. And his music is divine."
