Foo Fighters in frame for Sonisphere 2012 line up
Organisers also talking to Red Hot Chili Peppers and more
Chris Eustace - 12 July 2011
When asked onsite at a Sonisphere 2011 press conference
if, as rumoured, the rock heavyweights would headline next
year, he revealed that they were "two in a long list we're talking to," but that making the event "as broad
as we can" was the priority.
You can watch the full press conference inlcuding talk of the Sonisphere
2012 line up in the video above (watch from around ten minutes).
Stressing that no-one was yet confirmed,
he continued: "We could have Green Day or Blink 182. We could equally have Rammstein, Black Sabbath,
Metallica or Iron Maiden. But there's no point us booking [for example] Metallica,
Rammstein and Slayer, and equally no point booking Blink, Green Day and My Chemical Romance. We need a balance across the weekend."
As previously reported, Galbraith also confirmed
that Sonisphere 2012 will return to Knebworth Park from 6-8 July, with
the same 60,000 capacity as this year.
A limited amount of Early Bird Sonisphere 2012
tickets will go on sale tomorrow, with ticket-buyers
also getting an exclusive t-shirt.
