T In The Park climaxes with the Rock n Grohl show
Foos thrill Scots with mammoth two hour extravaganza
Graeme Johnston - 10 July 2011
Throwing in crushing new beasts like opener 'Bridge Burning', 'Rope' and 'White Limo',
Dave Grohl and the boys were on fine form, keeping the banter to a minimum in an effort to cram in a ridiculous amount
of songs into their two hour show.
'Breakout' was for the old fans, 'Stacked Actors' caused a guitar solo duel between the frontman and lead guitarist Chris Shiflett, while 'These Days' went out to the late ex-Motorhead guitarist Wurzel, who died yesterday.
A solo 'Times Like These' soon elicited the biggest cheer of the weekend as drummer Taylor Hawkins
reemerged in a Scotland football shirt and the band in kilts.
As they closed on favourite 'Everlong' with beautiful fireworks decorating the sky, it was hard to imagine a better end to another fantastic entry in the T In The Park history books.
