The Libertines and Babyshambles frontman was serving given a six-month jail sentence
for possession of
crack cocaine.
His original stretch meant that the star was forced to pull out his shows at this weekend’s
T In The Park 2011 and Oxegen 2011.
However the early release now means that
he should be able to play at Reading and Leeds 2011.
The news was first released on the fan website
Albion Rooms, which said: "On this bright sunny morning Peter was released from prison and thanks everyone for their valued
support whilst inside."
Doherty could potentially still face charges for “reckless intoxication”
after allegedly breaking into a German music store.
If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
