Jarvis urges fans to support student protests

In between songs during the hit-filled set, the bearded singer enquired if the crowd had been to the student protest stall earlier in the day.

"It's really important that we support them," he said of the cause. "If it wasn't for coming to London to go to college, we wouldn't be here right now."

The reunited Britpop group played a set of songs mostly from their seminal 'Different Class' album including 'Disco 2000', 'Underwear' and 'Bar Italia'.

Ending on 'Common People', Cocker applauded the audience and encouraged his band to do the same.

17-year old Martin Hyans said he was lucky to have seen the band: "They're one of the great bands of the 90s. I never thought I'd get to see them so this was amazing. Hopefully I'll get the chance again soon."
