Chris Martin came to the stage after an interlude of Bruce Springsteen songs to music from Star Wars.
The 34-year-old played ‘Yellow’ as a strong opener, followed by ‘In My Place’,
the frontman then introduced new material by saying: “Forgive us for playing new songs, someday they’ll be
your favourites.”
'Lost' followed as inflatable balloons launched into the night sky and the band revelled in the glory of their second album with revivals of ‘Shiver’, ‘The Scientist’ and ‘God Put A Smile Upon’.
Dropping into Louis Armstrong’s ‘What A Wonderful World’, the group impressed with a light show on the side of the Pyramid Stage.
They then rejoiced in the joy of ‘Politics’ and ‘Viva La Vida’ as the crowd joined
in with the feel good emotional ride.
