The set featured the now traditional mix of solo and Smiths material, with ‘This Charming Man’, ‘Shoplifters
Of The World’ and ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’ featuring from the latter.
Having debuted
three new songs for BBC Radio 2 last week the 52-year-old singer played ‘People Are The Same Everywhere’ to the
early evening crowd.
The former Smiths' singer then went into an attack on David Cameron, branding
him a “silly twat” for trying to prevent an act of parliament making the use of animals in circuses illegal
which passed in Parliament today, despite Cameron’s protests.
The famed vegan then dropped ‘Meat Is
Murder’.
The singer’s set clashed with both Mumford & Sons and Radiohead
who played a secret set on The Park Stage this evening.
U2 succeeded Morrissey with a headline performance on the Pyramid Stage.
