James kick-start Hard Rock Calling 2011

Indie pioneers brighten a soggy start to Hard Rock's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Whilst many a seasoned festival-goer is dining on the mud-soaked Glastonbury menu, London has held its own with an encyclopaedic indie line up.

Nineties britpop seven-piece James produced a polished performance to get the crowd on their feet at the start of Hard Rock Calling 2011.

Rattling through a 'best of' style set list, including such hits as 'Come Home', 'Tomorrow' and festival favourite 'Sit Down', James provided a welcome distraction to the parting heavens.
