Thousands arrived onsite yesterday (Wednesday) with many prepared for the forecasted wet weather, but some ticket-holders
were spotted in shorts and trainers as the annual event kicked off.
More rain is expected today (Thursday) before
it clears up over the weekend and those yet to arrive onsite are being advised to pack warm clothes and wellies.
As is now tradition for the Wednesday night at Glastonbury, fans let out spontaneous cheers across the site like sonic Mexican
waves with thousands heading for the Stone Circle to watch the sun rise.
MS Dynamite and Sandi Thom are among
the first acts set to perform today (Thursday), as a number of stages open ahead of the festival kicking off properly on Friday.
