BAR LORCA Brixton - 19th June
Headlined by Ex-Pistol, Glen Matlock, Left Field:Live in London will be setting the scene for the following Friday night in the Glastonbury Left Field, where Glen will be performing again - both solo and with Mike Peters of The Alarm.
Doors open to Brixton's Bar Lorca (261 Brixton Road) at 7pm, with hot new bands all tipped for success getting the night off to a fantastic start. Be there early to avoid missing out on a treat...and with beer at pub prices you'd be mad to stop off somewhere else on the way over! Glen will be on stage at about 10pm.
In a break with the traditional running order of things there will be another band after Glen (Drugdealer Cheerleader) taking us through to midnight, when those loveable boys from The Cooper Temple Clause will be taking over the DJ decks to move the party into Saturday morning...get ready for a night bus home! Also on stage early in the evening will by Birmingham's latest rising star, singer songwriter Chris Tye (definitely one to watch!) and South London's own Whitestar, a band with a steadily growing following!
The first 50 people to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org will get in for free - after that it's just a bargain £5. You can reserve a ticket to buy on the door by texting 'GLASTO' to 87023...that costs you 50p, then pay just £4 more on the night. Everyone who registers in advance stands a chance to win one of two pairs of top-notch guest passes for the next day's Fleadh.
The night will be supporting the causes of both War on Want and Unite Against Facism.
