Opening with 'Surfacing' which steals from the classic 'Dream a Little Dream of Me', the London quintet delivered a confident
but unassuming set littered with tracks from their debut album 'Palace'.
Frontman Lewis Bowman,
dressed in typical mod atire, appeared relaxed and confident in front of the modest crowd.
The lack lustre attendance
at the Goldenvoice Stage was attributed to the formiddable house vibes of Laidback Luke, voted the world's seventeenth best DJ, who played simultaneously on the main stage.
"It's a shame there are so few people here," said Sarah Whyte from Aberdeen, "they're all out there watching
that shit DJ, I mean how many times can you listen to that 'Bass Cannon' song?"
If you missed Chapel Club at Rockness you can catch them at most festivals throughout the country including
Latitude, Reading and Leeds and Summer Sundae Weekender.
Other ‘C’ related bands appearing later tonight
at Rockness 2011 are The Cribs and the Chemical Brothers.
