Band debut new tracks in first UK festival show for two years

They were a crowd favorite in the singalong stakes, but delivered the same tricks fan have seen year after year with nothing
fresh to offer.
Ricky Wilson played a good game and the group composed melodies which wouldn't
sound out of place on the football terraces, but without adding exciting and new influences, the Kaiser Chiefs will continue to slip down the
bill.
Yes, the masses voiced approval for songs like 'Ruby' and 'I Predict A Riot', but the biggest cheer came
when the crooner pulled out the Olympic torch, while the likes of 'Little Shocks' were brushed aside by the hoards.
Fifteen years ago, Ocean Colour Scene were in the same place in their careers and now they're as relevant as a VHS. A change
in musical direction would help Kaiser Chiefs avoid the same fate.
Isle of Wight Festival 2011 continues tomorrow with Foo Fighters, Pulp and more.
