In the lead up to the event, fans can listen online before tuning in to 87.7FM over the weekend to make sure the metal and rock doesn’t end when the headliners blow the speakers.

DJs will include Tom Russell, Paul Anthony, Father Ted, Moose, Phil McCracken and Rachel Houghton with special guests presenting on the station during the festival.

They will also be stuffing interviews in from as many of the bands on this year’s Download 2011 line-up as they can. So turn on, tune in and rock out!

As previously reported, Def Leppard, System Of A Down and Linkin Park will headline the festival.

Tickets are on sale now, priced at £180 for a weekend ticket with five days camping, £170 for a weekend ticket with three days camping and £145 for a weekend-only ticket.
