Despite the departure of singer Tyondai Braxton last year, the band were still able to engage the audience with some deftly filmed videos of guest backing singers from the group's recent 'Gloss Drop' album, including synth pop legend Gary Numan.

The remaining three Battles members were left joining the likes of Pulp and Low in hailing Catalonia's new protest movement, in response to the crackdown Barcelona's police made against youngsters in the city's centre earlier in the week.

Primavera Sound 2011
continues today (28 May), with the likes of PJ Harvey, Gang Gang Dance and Fleet Foxes set to do battle against home town football team FC Barcelona, who are due to compete in this year's Champion's League final against English champions Manchester United.
