Introducing... Glastonbury's Campo Pequeno
Tomato fights, giant piñatas, music and more
Dane Cobain - 25 May 2011
The new Campo Pequeno area will be the largest late night venue with a capacity of 1,000,
as well as being only the second permanent structure at the festival (apart from the Pyramid Stage).
Thursday (23 June) will open with carnival rhythms from Movimientos Djs as they warm up for the Lucha Britannia collective’s Mexican wrestling showcase.
On Friday (24 June), Bearded Kitten will host latin-inspired games using aerial rigging to involve the audience, welcoming The Unabombers, Zero 7, Justin Robertson and 2 Bears in the evening.
A giant pinata will be lowered in to the audience on Saturday (25 June), with DJ Yoda, Friendly Fires, Horse Meat Disco and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs performing at night.
The area will close the festival with a secret headliner on Sunday (26 June), followed by a tomato fight.
Coldplay, U2 and Beyonce are set to headline Glastonbury Festival 2011, with hundreds of other acts also due to perform.
