Secret Garden Party to launch Escape to New York Festival

Organisers of Secret Garden Party have revealed that they're organising a new festival called 'Escape To New York'.

The three-day festival will take place from 5-7 August on the Shinnecock Reservation Land in Southampton, New York.

Patti Smith, Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros, The Vaccines and The Psychedelic Furs are set to perform at the inaugural festival, with Best Coast, Au Revoir Simone and Chairlift also due to play.

Lissy Trullie, Graffiti 6 and The Submarines also join the line-up, with White Rabbits and Static Jacks and the Postelles completing the first wave of acts.

Event executive producer, Fred Fellowes said: “Our goal is to turn upside down the conventional music festival experience and recreate it in a way that makes each and every attendee walk away feeling they just had an incredibly unexpected and amazing VIP experience from the moment they entered our gates all the way through to when they pack up to return to their regular lives.”

The new festival is unlike anything the east coast has experienced before, including installation and performance art, experimental theatre, high-end camping, arts and craft and children’s play areas.
