Organisers have assured fans that tickets will be valid for the new date of 17 September and that refunds will be offered to those who no longer wish to attend.

Shakedown Director Matt Priest said: “We would like to sincerely apologise to anyone disappointed by this postponement, but would like to assure everyone affected that it will ultimately lead to a far safer and more enjoyable event."

Responding to concerns raised by ticket holders in the comments box, Shakedown allayed fears by reassuring fans that any money they spent is safe, stating: “Shakedown festival is fully funded by a company called Ingenious who fund festivals like Creamfields.

“Shakedown has no access to ANY ticket sale money until after the festival has taken place.

“Anyone who cannot make the new date will be able to get a refund from next Wednesday, at which point we will confirm the line-up, although the majority of artists have rebooked for the new date.”

Mark Ronson and Razorlight are among the acts due to perform at Shakedown, but it is yet to be confirmed which performers have been rebooked for the new date.
