U2 plan 'Glastonbury on steroids' set for June
Irish band plan grand stage for Somerset bash

Chris Swindells - 28 April 2011
Adam Clayton, bassist with Glastonbury
Festival 2011 headliners U2, has told Q Magazine that
the band plan to use the type of epic production at the event that they normally produce for their stadium shows.
"It's very un-Glastonbury to have a big production, but we will be sneaking a few things in through the back gate which
will hopefully make the experience a little more like Glastonbury on steroids,” he said.
Clayton added: "We're stretching the levels of what can be done. We hope to create a mind blowing experience that reacts well with all the other substances involved."
The band headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday 24 June after a live performance from Morrissey. Coldplay and Beyonce headline the Saturday and Sunday night respectively.

closer to the campsite than any other mode of transport.

This year, Glastonbury organisers are offering an extra
incentive to 'Green Travellers' other than the cleaner air and clear conscience.
