The American quartet are already confirmed to play Ireland’s Oxegen Festival, which usually share headliners with T
in the Park, as both event run over the same weekend.
The Scottish festival, which takes place over 11-13
July, will have one UK based group and two American bands booked as headline acts the NME has confirmed.
This has
lead to the speculation that The Verve or Stereophonics will perform alongside either R.E.M
or Rage Against The Machine.
Speaking to the magazine T in the Park organiser Geoff Ellis
also confirmed The Raconteurs will perform. He said:
“That’ll be a big one, especially because Jack [White] had to pull out in 2003.”
The Prodigy will headline the Radio1/NME stage on the Sunday, Ellis
revealed, with Kaiser Chiefs, Ian Brown and
Pigeon Detectives all set for the site at Balado,
near Kinross.
The organiser is also hoping to book at least four of the six big Scottish bands he wants. He is
likely to include Sons and Daughters but will leave out Franz Ferdinand, The View and The Proclaimers.
Tickets go on sale for the event this Friday (15) check back for full details.
