Virtual Festivals: Whereabouts are you playing this weekend?
Pip: We're playing the Dance Lounge
at 8pm on Sunday, me and Dan Le Sac are playing. I'm doing a few nice spoken words one as well, generally in random tents.
VF: You're originally a poet aren't you?
Pip: Yes, spoken word originally, which is great.
When we got here on Thursday night I did a little set with a jazz band, just doing poetry and that, so it's good to just
go up to a band and ask them if they fancy doing a track. I'm doing as many different sets as I can.
VF:
How did your collaboration with Dan Le Sac come about?
Pip: We'd known each other for years but never worked
together musically, when I was touring with my solo album he booked me for a gig and some remixes. I loved his style and we
just started working together, it was all over the internet and MySpace. Emailing back and forth and so on.
VF:
Who are you looking forward to seeing this weekend?
Pip: I saw Bjork last night and it was absolutely amazing,
also saw Gideon Con last night and I've never heard of him but he blew me away. He was so good; it was like seeing a cross
between Daniel Johnson, Dose One and Emo Phillips. Obviously quite obscure references but he was amazing.
