Virtual Festivals: So is this your first Download?
Brian Fair: "No this is actually our third.  We played the main stage a couple of years ago and then the second stage.  And now it’s our third year here and we’re back on the main stage."

VF: How do you find playing here compared to back in the US?
BF: "It’s insane there is no festival this big at one time; you don’t get anything like this.  To get that many people and this many bands is just incredible - it’s as good as it gets!"

VF: Who is the most Download band here?
BF: "Well when I think of the Donington area I think of Iron Maiden.  For me that’s like pinnacle moment for the stage at Donington.  I can’t wait until tomorrow; I’m sticking around just for that."

VF: Is there anyone else you want to see?
BF: "I’m really looking forward to seeing Slayer, who are always bring really good times and I expect it will be absolute blood mayhem out there.  I think Priestess are playing in a little while so I’ going to try and check them out.  I missed Bloodsimple because we were playing at the same time; I’m a bit gutted about that.  But unfortunately you can’t be in two places at the same time."

VF: We’ve already seen some bottling this weekend.  Who on the bill should be bottled?
BF: "I can’t say anybody deserves it but I can understand how it happens.  To be hit by a bottle of piss, there’s nothing worse.  We had one come close to the stage but didn’t make it, and that was the only one I saw but to get a ‘one bottle of piss’ performance - that’s pretty good.  There’s always one dude who hates you."

VF: Who’s the best new band on the bill?
BF: "I’m trying to think of a newer band.  I was really excited to see Porcupine Tree yesterday and it’s a band a lot of you kids might not know about as well, but that’s cool.  Another band is Bloodsimple, they are one band I want out check out as well because they’re cool.  Priestess are another newer band that I really like a lot and won’t actually get to see if they keep making me do interviews."

VF: What’s the most roll n’ roll thing you will do this weekend?
BF: "I’m probably going to drink myself into idiocy and someone else will have to tell me what to the most rock n’ roll thing I’ve done was."

VF: Finish this sentence – “At festivals I always…”
BF: "Get bombed."
