Want To Play At Glastonbury 2007?

18 October 2006
The Subways (pictured), Blackbud and The Deadbeats have all won Glastonbury's new band competition in recent years, performing on some of the biggest stages and helping their careers no end.
Next year it could be you!
The great thing about the contest is that judges don't necessarily go for vogue skinny jeaned indie kids every time. The competition is divided roughly along four genres with four winners getting to fill slots on the John Peel Stage, the Acoustic Stage, JazzWorld and in the Dance Village.
Even better, one overall winner gets to play the Other Stage, potentially in front of tens of thousands of people.
Many runners-up entrants also get to perform at smaller stages across the site.
It costs just over £11 to sign up to the competition, which you'd probably spend waiting on the phone to buy your ticket anyway. And if The Subways have won it, well...
CDs only at the moment but organisers are hoping to be able to accept digital entries soon.

Glastonbury Festival 2007 takes place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset, from 22-24 June. Tickets go on sale at the beginning of April and might just sell out.
