Despite the inhumane conditions which finally took their toll on Scotland's masses, T's final fling just about crosses the finishing line as Kasabian return to play the same headline slot they filled two years previously.

Crowds make giant circles around the mud lakes at the back of T in the Park's Main stage to make sure the last notes of this year's event are received with the same enthusiasm of Friday's openers.

'Shoot the Runner', 'Days are Forgotten' and 'Velociraptor' defy the showers which simply refuse to forgive the poorly treated participants of the weekend's fun.

"This is a present for anyone who came to see us in 2004 playing the King Tut's Stage" says front man Tom Meighan before L.S.F.

Not short of a joke either, Tom asks 'It's sort of rained on us but it's not going to win is it?' to a defiant Scottish response.

The swaggering English group turn out to be exactly what T needed on its frail final night.

After declaring his love for 'best friend' and guitarist Serge, Tom serenades the crowd with 'Empire' which reminds everyone why they paid so much and sacrificed more to be in this Perthshire swamp when almost anywhere would have been more appealing tonight.

A cover of the Beatles' 'She Loves You'  is a fun way to round off the weekend 's music before Tom joins a lone piper for a patriotic rendition of 'Flower of Scotland'.
