South West Four - what are we up to orienteering?
Well, not quite, it is more dancing shoes than walking boots. This two-day London face-melter has a disorientating-ly, eye-opening
line up of electronica that should leave us, and plenty of others, looking for our bearings when we step out into the late
evening light.
Early evening? Isn’t this dance festival 24 hours?
Afraid not. We’ve
only got nine hours from 12pm until 9pm to get our fill. So it’s in, ram our ears with as much aural pleasure as possible,
then head to the Ministry Of Sound after-party to shuffle until it’s breakfast time.
I can do that.
Who’s playing then?
Underworld and
Pendulum take top-billing with four chocca stages of the
good and the great including John Digweed, Laidback
Luke, Hernan Cattaneo, Magnetic Man, Modeselektor, Joker, Simian Mobile Disco and Mums Of Death
– a collaboration between Mumdance
and Drums Of Death. Plus loads more, obviously.
The full South West Four line up is here.
Who’s spinning at the after-party?
Laidback Luke and friends on Saturday with Richie Hawtin
among the DJs on Sunday, but don’t fret, the festival takes place from 27-28 August making Monday a day of
tea, tea, DVDs and, erm, tea.
Yeah, we’ll get to the tea. Who are we going to see at the festival?
This lot should test the soles of our shoes:
Underworld
James Zabiela
Richie Hawtin
Steve Lawler
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
Perfect, so when do I get my ticket?
Well, weekend and Saturday-only tickets have already gone,
but there Sunday tickets are still on sale for £45 – but be quick, it’s expected to sell out.
