Trident Perpetual Festival - The adventure goes international!
By KatieP on 12 October 2010Hello readers, Katie P here - Trident's worldwide party guide, now with 19 festivals under my belt in just 19 weeks. Sounds exhausting? That's nothing! There are still 11 more adventures to be had in America, Mexico, Thailand, Australia and Buenos Aires - yee haa - and there are still tickets up for grabs to join me through the competitions at www.tridentgum.co.uk!
At almost my two-thirds point, it's a great time to sit back (momentarily) and reflect on what has been an incredible and unforgettable journey so far.
Staring back in May with a looming 30 weeks of travel and dancing ahead, I began my trip in Ibiza at the season's opening parties. From there I took in - deep breath - the rock styles of Mallorca, the legendary Isle Of Wight Festival, Beach Break boogies in Wales, metal anthems in Turkey at Sonisphere, extreme sport fun at Wakestock, Croatian boat parties at Garden Festival, 24-hour raving near Barcelona at the Monegros Desert Festival, beach life sunshine at Soundwave, hardcore raving at Global Gathering, field-splashing at Standon Calling, Bulgarian hospitality at the Spirit Of Burgas, Devonshire folk fun at Beautiful Days, Parisian culture at Rock En Seine, fancy-dress madness at Bestival, highland drinking at Loopallu, closing-party action in Ibiza and stunning mountain views in Cape Town, South Africa!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, being the Perpetual Festival Guide is probably the best job on the planet. From The Prodigy to Rolf Harris, Fool's Gold to Metallica, The Kooks to Carl Cox and Plan B to Ellie Goulding, it's been an amazing musical adventure through rock, pop, soul, jazz, hip-hop, dance and indie across the best parties on the planet. If you aren't so jealous right now that you want to throttle me, have a wee gander at all the action that's happened so far - in the form of over 500 blog posts, over 2000 photos and over 100 video reports from all this international festival action: http://tridentperpetualfestival.blogspot.com/.
Meanwhile, I'm going to go grab some breakfast and get ready for another voyage into the unknown as I head up to Malawi for the renowned Lake Of Stars festival. See you on the other side!
