JAZZ CAFE PICNIC, HAMPSTEAD 2005

A one-day festival, stretched out on the lawn, bubling to some sumptous sounds almost as chilled as the champagne being drunk by tribes of laxidazical Londoners.

The first of two Jazz Cafe Picnics returns for its second summer, offering an up-market alternative to more full-on one-dayers in the capital. The emphasis is definitely on taking the weight off work weary legs, although expect some drunken Sunday dancing by dusk.
