The Green Man Festival organiser Fiona Stewart speaks to Virtual Festivals about Green Man 2011 and the plans for the festival in 2012.
Reacting to the news Green Man had been voted in Virtual Festivals top ten festivals of 2011, Fiona said: “It’s really brilliant, really appreciate that kind of feedback, it’s really great for everyone who organises it.“
Asked what made 2011 so special for the Green Man the festival organiser said: “I think the fact it was really really hot all weekend which was lovely and waking up in the morning and to see that mist coming through from the Brecon Beacons.“
Next year will be Green Man‘s tenth anniversary and Fiona revealed the direction this is taking: “We’ve got a few kind of surprises up our sleeves, talking to people who have played the festival in previous years and developing a lot of ideas from the audience.“
Fiona said ticket prices were a key issue for Green Man Festival: “We’ve prided ourself in keeping the ticket price down for the Green Man.“ Talking about a initiative to help festival goers make the most of their festival she explained the concept behind The Holiday Ticket: “People can camp in Wales for a week, which is only £40 extra from their weekend pass.“
Currently there is no news on the price and availability of Green Man 2012 tickets, but they are expected to go on sale shortly.
