The festival organiser reflects on Beautiful Days 2011 and discusses plans for the festival in 2012, backstage at Live UK Awards 2011.
Talking exclusively to Virtual Festivals, David Farrow said Beautiful Days 2011 was the best yet: “We had the best weather we’ve ever had in nine years, we went a little bit bigger this year but only by 1500 people but we’ve made loads of improvements to the site.“
He confirmed there was no plans to again increase capacity in 2012, commenting, “we’re staying at fifteen thousand.“
“We’re going to put in a new venue, we’re going to put in a seated theatre next year.” Farrow announced.
Asked how the absence of Glastonbury in 2012 will affect Beautiful Days 2012, David Farrow said the effects would be minor: “I’m on the same weekend as V Festival, I’m also on the same weekend as Lowlands and Pukkelpop in Belgium and Holland and I actually struggle to get the bands that I want because of those festivals.“
Beautiful Days 2012 tickets go on general sale this Friday (Oct 14) but are currently available to Levellers‘ ‘On The Fiddle‘ fan club members. Click here for Beautiful Days tickets and prices.
