About Hove Festivalen 2009
Hove has only been around since 2007 but it has already established itself as Norway's largest festival.
Set on the
beautiful island of Tromoya, just outside the city of Arendal, Hove is the first big Norwegian summer event to offer extensive
on-site camping.
With this also comes a fine selection of Norwegian and international artists that fill the three
stages and various DJ booths all weekend while a selection of cinema, theatre, visual arts and literature will give revellers
a distinctly varied experience.
Jay Z, Panic at the Disco and Beck headlined last year's event which, as always, put
a big focus on environmental issues and a carbon neutral approach to energy consumption.
Torp Airport near the town
of Sandefjord and Kjevik Airport near Kristiansand both run flights to various European destinations and are connected to
Arendal via rail. Oslo is a longer train journey from the festival but provides further European transport links.
