About Field Day 2009

London's own 'psychedelic summer fete' returns to Victoria Park, Hackney in 2009 to make it a hat trick of events in August. Foals, Simian Mobile Disco and Noah and the Whale helped please crowds in 2008, so expect many more top names this time around.

Curated by indie and alternative music promoters Bugged Out!, Adventures In The Beetroot Field and Eat Your Own Ears, the festival will have a diverse mixture of established acts and breaking bands.

Making use of the park's bandstand as well as four other stages and tents the festival will have plenty of room for the music, but there will be wellie throwing, Morris dancing, a coconut shy, Ceiledh, tug of war and more offbeat activities to keep fans entertained as well.

Inspired by summer sports days and country fetes - Field Day's very own village green will host stalls and activities throughout the daytime, ranging from sack-racing, to whack-the-rat, Bowling for Bacon and lots more to be announced.
