Evile - Bloodstock 2012 review
'They are genuinely ecstatic to be here'

Evile's fourth appearance at Bloodstock Open Air begins
with drummer Ben Carter giving a lion's roar style entrance, in stark contrast to bandmates Ol and Matt Drake grinning like
cheshire cats as they walk on stage.
These guys make no pretence, they are genuinely ecstatic to be here and the
feeling is infectious as fans along the barrier throwdown for 'Five Serpent's Teeth' and 'We Who Are About To Die'.
Joker frontman Matt quips "We've been told we're not allowed to swear on this stage today. Let's give it a try... Put your
flippin' horns up you plonkers!!" In his Huddersfield accent, and their rock n roll persona instantly slips ten points.
Melodic ballad 'In Memoriam' sees fans sway, heads hung over the barrier, eyes closed, revelling in the harmonies.
It's a great set from the Yorkshire lads and it's nice to see a band really enjoy themselves, instead of playing cool for
the sake of image.
