Maverick Sabre - Beach Break Live review
'Mav's in fine voice throughout'

"I know the weather's shitty, but make some noise if you're enjoying the music today!" is Mav's opening gambit, neatly summing up 99% of the crowd's feelings on the festival so far.
You can add Maverick Sabre to the "enjoyed" list - after his breakthrough set here last year, he's back playing second to last, drawing a crowd befitting such a billing.
The set's paced nicely too, starting off soulful with the likes of 'I Can Never Be', 'Look What I've Done' and a singalong 'Used To Have It All'.
'No-One' is the turning point, with the lilting original twisting into a frantic dubstep remix, and things then get heavier with 'Let Me Go' and, in a nifty nod to tonight's headliners Chase & Status, a crashing take on 'Warriors'.
With Mav in fine voice throughout, it's a nice touch to finish with former single 'I Need', the hordes unsurprisingly singing "I need sunshine...blue skies" with even more gusto than usual.
