Royalty, politics and tragedy all feature throughout Weston's history. The house was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book in the 11th Century. However, Weston owes much of its unique charm to the vision of Lady Wilbraham who directed the building of the present house in 1671. The sheer beauty of the landscape gardens is the work of the famous "Capability" Brown in the 18th Century. Weston is the seat of the Earls of Bradford and is now held in trust for the nation by The Weston Park Foundation.
