Radio Left Field (Glastonbury FM)

11 November 2005

If you want to relive some of the Left Field vibe from Glastonbury 2005 then why not tune in to Glastonbury FM - or listen in online to some of the best bands that appeared at Glastonbury this year!

Glastonbury FM has been broadcasting across the fields of Avalon for the last week, and the Somerset town's close links with the festival mean that there has been more than a little airtime devoted to the goings on at Worthy Farm back in June.

VirtualFestivals are pleased to have been able to supply some of the content for the station, and working closely with the Left Field team we produced and edited a two hour retrospective of the characters and bands who appeared on their stage this year.

VF's involvement with the Left Field goes back several years now, and over the last two festivals we have booked bands to play the stage and provided a stage manager to keep things running smoothly. In fact it was our own John Bownas who both carried out Stage Management duties and also put together the two hour Glastonbury FM show - described by the stations manager, Steve Bilsborough as the highlight of the week's broadcast.

The show features an an interview with Geoff Martin, Director of the Left Field since it's inception, as well as numerous excerpts from the 2005 Left Field Movie, put together by Alan Miles of Mad Inertia Productions. It also has a wealth of great music from bands who all played the stage at Glastonbury this year...with the exception of the great Jackie Leven, who sadly missed his performance after suffering a run-in with a car door at a petrol station on his way to the festival.

If you don't live in the Glastonbury area or you missed their broadcast on the web you can still listen to the show by following this link, which will stream into Windows Media Player.
