Virtual Festivals: Well that was one of the most mind blowing sets of the whole festival. Guys, how was it for you?
Andy Cairns: It was absolutely brilliant! I was really, really moved. What a reaction from a nice full tent and everyone was going for it. We had a brilliant time, it was fantastic!
VF: There was a great reaction to the new material too, how did that feel?
AC: We’ll we’ve been getting that reaction for the last two records we’ve done. We’ve been getting younger kids interested because we’ve stuck around for 15 years. People who are our age are bringing younger kids along to our shows which is great.
VF: How have you managed to stick around for 15 years?
AC: I don’t know! It doesn’t seem like 15 years. The first time we did Donington was ’94 and it certainly doesn’t feel like 11 years ago!
VF: How does it feel to be back in Donington?
AC: Absolutely brilliant! We’re really chuffed because we didn’t think we were going to get offered any UK festivals this year. We were in Amsterdam on tour around Holland and Belgium and we got a phone call saying we were headlining the Napster Stage [powered by Virtual Festivals]. We were all really, really made up.
VF: Considering you were up against one of the new kids' favourites, System of a Down, as well as Motorhead, that was quite a turnout!
AC: Yeah, definitely!
VF: So what’s next for Therapy?
AC: Well we’re doing all the festivals all over Europe up until August and then that’s it. We finish in September and then we’re doing a new record and hopefully put it out in February 2006.
VF: Can you please – and I speak for every Therapy? fan – can you please not go away again!
AC: No! We’re back and here to stay. We’ve worked ourselves really hard to get ourselves back on track. We love the three-piece line up and team we have now. We’re not going to f**k it up again – definitely not – not at this opportunity.
VF: Just one more thing – have you got any kind of message for your fans?
AC: For every single person in that tent, thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts. It was really, really moving and much respect for all the people that buy our records, come to our shows, buy our t-shirts and were in that tent tonight. We f**king love you guys!
