'Think & Smile' - political or witty singers wanted! 14 July 2005
In association with Bowdown Promotions VF are looking for singer-songwriters who have political or social messages or who write songs full of humour and comedy...or ideally both!
New VF acoustic club nights - THINK & SMILE

We've been receiving demos all summer from bands who are desperate to get onto festival stages, but in amongst the multitude of guitar based rock acts we've been increasingly finding little acoustic gems from songwriters who can eloquently and elegantly sing about social injustice - or whose mission in life is simply to raise a smile.
So VF has teamed up with Bowdown Productions to start a series of acoustic based club nights in small London venues under the heading of 'Think & Smile'. Our aim is to take the best of these acts out on a tour of festivals in 2006 - so now we want to hear from more acts who want to be involved.
If you think you've got what it takes then e-mail thinkandsmile@bowdown.co.uk - or better still send a demo through to Think & Smile, The Little Barn, 7a Station Road, London, SE20 7BE.
We are also looking for reader's recommendations, so if you know of an act you think would go down well then e-mail us their details at the above address.
You are listening to Daniel Orlick - We the People (www.ghosttownrecords.co.uk ) - Daniel's 28 track demo really caught our ear and resulted in his playing a set at Glastonbury's Left Field Stage - the largest tent at the festival!
