This year sees the NME Stage shaking off its canvas cover to become an outdoor arena for the first time. The change will allow more festival- goers to see more exciting acts over the two days, including Idlewild, Basement Jaxx, Air and Doves.
This year we also wanted to develop the T Break Stage, aiming to create a more intimate atmosphere for both the bands and music fans. As with all of the other stages at T in the Park, this year's developments to the T Break Stage will ensure it becomes yet another unique part of the T in the Park experience.
These developments will include an floored area inside the tent, together with a double sided bar. There will also be extra platforms for seating areas for those who wish to spend time perusing Scotland's premium new talent. Plus, the introduction of some cracking lighting and stage visuals, to provide the ultimate Rock 'n' Roll experience.
By popular demand, the Powder Room will return for its third year, this time sponsored by Soft & Gentle who promise all ladies on site the ultimate refreshing retreat and a bit of pampering and preening before joining the revelries again.
T in the Park has always offered some space to the more traditional music styles and the festival Ceilidh Tent is the perfect place to have a Braveheart moment with some of Scotland's top traditional bands all in the name of good Scottish fun!
The festival funfair has now reached legendary status. For anyone who loves waltzers, the big wheel, dodgems, candy floss and toffee apples a visit to the T in the Park funfair is a must. In addition there will be the usual array of foods from around the world in the global food village, and a selection of Bars selling Scotland's favourite pint, Tennent's Lager, the best pint of any UK festival.
Over 2 million pints of Tennent's Lager have now been sold at T in the Park since it began in 1994. This year, to help quench the Balado crowd's thirst (and help minimise queues) there will be 28 special Multi Dispense Units across the 5 bars on-site, pouring a staggering 672 pints of Scotland's favourite lager every minute! T in the Parkers should also note that again this year, the bars will work on a voucher system and will close at around 9.30pm each night. Please also note that Saturday vouchers will not be valid for Sunday.
As usual, the fun at T in the Park certainly doesn't stop when the last band leaves the stage. If you've been to T in the Park before and never camped, you're definitely missing out. The campsite, or 'canvas town' as it is known, will have a population of 35,000 this year and the tales of partying will go on long after the festival is over.
From the moment they arrive to the moment they leave, campers make the most of the festival and this year, as well as the usual entertainment, the Beat 106 Monster Bus will add to the fun. Also, for anyone who fancies a trip to the movies during the proceedings, the Doritos Cinema will be screening films throughout the entire weekend.
