Biffy Clyro at Glastonbury Festival 2011 by Sara Bowrey

A break down of summer's longest festival(s) and the event solely responsible for bringing rock music to the party island!

What’s this? A rock concert on the world’s clubbing capital?
Yep! Since 2005 Ibiza Rocks has been taking rock and indie to the White Isle and every Wednesday from June through to September it gives fans a choice of the best axe-weilding talent over 17 weeks.

It’s even got a sister event taking an identical line-up to Majorca! With different acts every week for four months you can rest assured you’ll have a chance to see your favourite artists followed by DJ sets from the infamous Ibiza Rocks resident DJ’s.

So where exactly is it?
Ibiza Rocks is held in San Antonio and takes place at the Ibiza Rocks hotel. The stage is located right next to the pool which is surrounded by the Ibiza Rocks Hotel rooms so that ticket holders who purchase balcony room can watch the events from their own balconies. Talk about room with a view! It’s sibling Mallorca Rocks is held at the sister hotel in Magaluf and boasts a permanent stage with an open air courtyard. It might not be the original thing but with an identical lineup, it’s still saw sell-out shows last year for acts such as Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah, Calvin Harris.

The Ibiza Rocks Brand also offers two other choices of accommodation of varying price. For those of you who are budgeting and have come purely for the music and the party, there is the Ibiza Rocks Hostel. It’s 500 metres from the actual hotel but the price includes use of the hotels pool and facilities and also includes your ticket if you book to stay on the Wednesday. For those of  you who are are  prepared to splash out a bit, there is the the Ibiza Rocks, House at Pikes. Once a common haunt of famous rock stars such as Freddie Mercury it has a long history in music and was even the film set for Wham‘s “Club Tropicana” video.

So what sort of music can you expect?
