Golden indie-pop songstress Florence Welch and hip-hop prodigy Kendrick Lamar have been paired up for possibly the biggest show of their respective careers, co-headlining next year’s British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

Florence Welch and her Machine band will return to the capital, less than 10 months on from their four spectacular sold out shows at Alexandra Palace back in September. Touring their third album, ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’, the band have enjoyed a phenomenal six months of good fortune, including a smash ‘stand in‘ headline set at Glastonbury Festival back in June and nomination for last week’s Mercury Music Prize.

The other half of this slightly odd pairing, 28-year-old rapper Kendrick Lamar - also touring his third record, the Dre produced ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ - returns to London next summer after playing this year’s Wireless Festival. The Compton-born hip hop star is arguably the hottest thing in music right now and his latest release looks set to dominate the end of year ‘best of 2015‘ music lists.

Florence and the Machine and Kendrick Lamar will co-headline London’s iconic Hyde Park on Saturday 2 July, 2016.

Also on the one-day bill, Mercury Prize nominee Jamie xx and Dev Hynes’ latest musical vehicle/moniker Blood Orange.

Florence and Kendrick join two previously announced headliners on this year’s British Summer Time Hyde Park bill. Mumford & Sons top the Great Oak Stage on Friday 8 July and Take That grace the same stage on Saturday July 9, 2016.
