Yes it's that time of year again, pack your flat peaked New Era and get your board re-gripped...
Relentless NASS is back in Somerset for another weekend of extreme sport and extreme music.
Over the weekend, don’t forget to look around site for some of the special activities like Slacklining, Slalom and Freestyle Skate, as well as Water Zorbing and live graffiti artists, which you might not get a chance to see anywhere else.
If all of that isn’t enough to satisfy you, or you’re planning on bringing your sulky girlfriend along, don’t worry – there are loads of stalls selling everything from new decks to airbrush tattoos.
With huge events like World Cup Skate, The World Rolling Series, International BMX and Girlzilla to look forward to, it might be hard to tear yourselves away to catch some of the music going on over the weekend, but there are some top notch acts you do not want to miss.
Five to not pass at NASS:
Are you ready? Do you know? Unless you’ve been a hermit or on another planet over the last year, you will have gotten good and sweaty dancing your pants off to these home-grown drum n bass heroes in some dirty beats club somewhere. Get yourselves over there to soak up some good vibe, not to be missed.
With such DnB credentials as providing vocals for the likes of Professor Green and Chase & Status, it’s not hard to see why Maverick Sabre deserves a main stage slot at NASS, but for those not in the know, on his own he creates some slick RnB relief in a bass heavy line-up. If you’re looking for a more relaxed approach to the genre, Maverick has it covered with ‘Round Here’ and ‘Look What I’ve Done’.
Swedish punk rockers Millencolin are set to bring it old school on the Kerrang! Stage, If you’re too young to know who they are – go get educated, this is the roots music of the last two decades of skate culture in the UK. Oh, and they’re fucking awesome.
With new lead track ‘French Fuck’, it’s hard to dislike the cheeky Dirtyphonics and their progressive electro style with juddering beats to re-start your heart. Shirts off, rave on.
Take a bottle of water with you, you’re not going to stop moving. DJ Fresh’s fast-paced tracks are sure to get everyone pumped and jumping, with brand new single ‘Louder’ set for release on 3 July we could be in for a tasty treat of new material, so don’t miss out.
Relentless NASS 2011 will return to the Bath and West Showground in Somerset from 8-10 July with tickets are still on sale priced at £78.50 for an adult weekend ticket.
