With the current crop of emerging rock n roll talent stronger than ever before, Club:Hedonistic is unveiled as the capital's first free band night. They're currently looking for bands to feature.
Bands are sick of venues whose only concern is making cash. Bands are sick of having to force their mates to pay extortionate door tax to see them play on a shitty PA. Bands are sick of having to pay to play to no one. Bands are sick at how playing live can end up killing everything that live music should stand for.
Enter Club:Hedonistic kicking off at The Archway, Monday 27 September. 7pm-12am
Free entry for fans. Pub priced beer. A first rate 300 capacity venue with decent stage lighting, big screens and a license to thrill until midnight. It’s bang opposite Archway tube, where the last train leaves at 12.20am. See map here.
Rather than be concerned about screwing profits from passionate music fans, the organisers are all for building up a community of music loving fans and raising the profile of the newly signed or soon-to-be signed acts that play. The night is planned to run monthly, but if it proves a proper success then maybe this will change..
The recently done-up venue famously featured on the cover of the Kinks album, Muswell Hillbillies. It will be decked out with drapes, candles and some classic movies on the big screens to give it an added atmosphere, and with a mix of DJs and four top bands, it’s sure to be a great night out before people move on to Trash or head home to nurse hangovers.
And the music will be good. The organisers are stressing that they want band and fan involvement alike. So if you’re a band who’s recently signed or who needs a bit more exposure to get them there, then email: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re a fan wishing to be part of this then do the same.
It’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be free. It’s gonna be packed. And VF is gonna be right alongside them in taking London back!
