About Exit Festival 2011
Born from a stance against Milosevic's rule over former Yugoslavia, EXIT festival is a social and cultural event to behold.
Established
as one of the roots for cultural renewal in Serbia following the war torn years, the festival plays host to a strongly-alternative
line-up to delight rockers and clubbers alike.
The once impregnable Petrovaradin fortress, overlooking the Danube,
is taken over by 55,000 revellers daily during the four days of the festival which has hosted the likes of the Sex Pistols,
Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy and Moby in the past.
22 stages are spread throughout the maze of courtyards, rooms and
underground tunnels whilst camping is available for a full 10 days in the University Park, just down the hill in the town
of Novi Sad.
The closest international airport is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport with extensive European connections
while a number of budget airlines fly to Budapest (Hungary) and Ljubljana (Slovakia) airports.
