After last year’s cancellation due to heavy rain, Sunrise Celebration Festival has found a new location for its 2009 event.
The site resembles a giant mandala with 13 areas housing live acts and DJs, talks, workshops, a healing village and a children’s area. At the centre of the site is the Sacred Heart area where there are no performances merely ‘beingness’.
Organisers of the festival have been involved with Glastonbury for years and the alternative culture event resembles the early days of the Pilton event.
Sunrise enforces an organic food and drink policy on stall holders, encourages recycling and uses compost toilets. It just goes to show that having fun doesn’t have to cost the Earth…
